Kodo millet is one of the oldest cultivated crops in India and is known for its nutritional value. It offers numerous health benefits, as they are gluten free, rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron, fibre and proteins.
This Kodo millet comes from the Dindori tribal belt in Madhya Pradesh, where it is produced by the women of the Baiga tribe. In the Dindori district, Kodo millet is primarily cultivated by the Baiga and Gond communities, especially on the slopes of the hills. Their traditional farming methods have sustained this ancient crop in the region, preserving its cultural and agricultural significance.
How to Use?
You can simply cook it like a Rice, make Pulao, Upma, Porridge or Kheer, or use its flour to make Rotis, idli, dosa, cookies, and many more exciting, healthy and delicious recipes.
Do not forget to soak overnight before cooking.
